Curry unlikely to play in game three
Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is unlikely to make his return in game three against the Portland Trail Blazers.
The 28-year-old returned from an injured ankle only to sprain his right knee on April 24 in game four of the Warriors’ first-round series against the Houston Rockets.
Curry was hopeful of playing against the Trail Blazers on Saturday, with the Warriors leading the series 2-0.
However, coach Steve Kerr is unwilling to risk the reigning NBA MVP, telling a news conference: “It’s tough to see him playing Saturday.
“He’s gotten better and better each day.”
Kerr added: “Everything has gone very smoothly. He hasn’t had any setbacks. He’s ramping up things in the weight room.
“We probably need to get through that process. We need to see him in rhythm, cutting, moving and see how he responds the next day as well.”
