World number one Novak Djokovic dropped just four games on his way to recording a 6-2 6-2 victory over Rafael Nadal in the final of the China Open this afternoon.
Djokovic broke his Spanish opponent at the first time of asking in Beijing and after Nadal had failed to respond when presented with a similar opportunity at 3-2 down, the Serb took control of proceedings.
The opening set was eventually won in 42 minutes, while the second set, during which Nadal received treatment for a foot injury, took eight minutes longer. The win saw Djokovic extend his positive recent run over Nadal, having won seven of the last eight meetings between the pair.
It marked a sixth China Open title for the 28-year-old, while Nadal was appearing in his first hard-court final for 18 months.
