Musa Backs Eagles To Beat Mali, Wants EPL Move
Nigeria vice-captain Ahmed Musa has charged the Super Eagles to go all out to beat Mali in their international friendly match on Friday in France to improve in the FIFA rankings.
Musa who was excused from the match with team skipper Mikel Obi by the Nigeria Football Federation to honour the Joseph Yobo testimonial game in Port Harcourt on the same day said that their absence from the game in France should not stop the team from beating the Malians.
“I have absolute confidence in the ability of the team coach Salisu Yusuf led out to France for the matches against Mali and Luxembourg,” Musa said. “They can win the games without Mikel and I. It is a good opportunity for the players who have not been featuring for the Super Eagles to cement their places in the national team.
“The game against Mali will be tough but I believe in the players in the Eagles squad can beat Mali if they play to instructions. We need to win the two matches and improve on our FIFA rankings as well as build up for World Cup qualifiers.”
Asked if he will be leaving CSKA Moscow for Leicester as being speculated in the media, Musa who spoke with journalist in Abuja on his way to Port Harcourt said that his agent has yet to brief him about any impending move but stressed that he would be glad to play in the English Premier League if the opportunity comes .
He said that for now he is on break and after the Yobo testimonial game, he hopes to go on holidays before returning for the pre-season in Moscow.
