Ryan Giggs ‘weighing up Manchester United future’
Manchester United assistant manager Ryan Giggs is reportedly weighing up his options following the sacking of Louis van Gaal.
The Dutchman saw his two-year stint at Old Trafford brought to an end earlier this week, with former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho expected to be named as his replacement.
The switch leaves Giggs’s future shrouded in uncertainty, with Mourinho likely to bring in long-time assistant Rui Faria as his number two.
United are understood to want to keep Giggs at the club in some capacity, although it remains unclear as to what role he would carry out should he stay.
The 42-year-old is thought to have managerial ambitions of his own, and as a result is considering leaving the club after 29 years of service.
Giggs has held posts as player-coach, assistant manager and caretaker manager in the past three years and boasts the most appearances in Manchester United history with 963.
