Despite their 1-0 away win against Burundi over the weekend, Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have been criticized at home by fans – who expected more – but Coach of the side, Emmanuel Amuneke maintains that the team’s performance was satisfactory.

Speaking with footballlive.ng as the young squad touched down in Nigeria from their conquest of Bujumbura, Amuneke praised his side’s ability to adapt and interpret instructions.

Reacting to the criticisms, Amuneke appreciates that the journey to reaching the team’s objective will prove difficult, the U-17 World Cup winning Coach stressed that they are committed to working hard at every point as they progress.

Nigeria’s win in Bujumbura means, the Flying Eagles have a foot in the third and final round of qualifiers, and are home and dry if they manage to hold off their East Africa visitors in next Month.
