Players of Nigeria Professional Football League side, Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, have threatened to embark on a strike action to protest the non-payment of their salaries.

The players, are owed five months salaries by the management of the club.

With no news forthcoming  on when they will be paid their entitlements, the players are considering boycotting training to press home their demands.

“The situation at the club is pathetic as we have not received our salaries for the past five months,” one of the players said.

“We experienced the same thing last season and it’s unfortunate that we have been subjected to the same treatment again.

“We have managed to cope with the situation so far, but if the condition persists, then we will be forced to shun training and even boycott league games too.”

The Oluyole Warlords currently occupy the 11th position in the Nigeria Professional Football League table.

They next travel to Kano where they will face former champions Kano Pillars in a match day 13 fixture on Sunday.
