Arsenal made summer bid for Ricardo Montolivo?

Arsenal reportedly launched a bid for AC Milan midfielder Ricardo Montolivo during the summer transfer window.

Petr Cech‘s £11m move to the Emirates from Chelsea was the only piece of transfer business that the Gunners completed.

However, according to The Express, the North London outfit tried to lure Montolivo to the club, but Milan rejected their advances.

“There’s a strange hostility toward Montolivo,” the newspaper quotes Montolivo’s agent Giovanni Branchini as saying. “There have been several teams asking about him, but neither us or Milan have taken any offers into consideration.”

Montolivo made just 10 starts in Serie A last season.
