CAF Champions League: Enyimba Against Stubborn Zamalek in Egypt Today.

Nigerian Champions Enyimba International will today (Monday) square it up with strong Egyptian Side Zamalek in their bid to make it to the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League at the Petrosport Stadium Cairo, sportlineng.com confidently reports.

The Peoples Elephants are still without a win in the group stages of the competition after suffering defeats in their opening two games against Zamalek in Port Harcourt and Mamelodi Sundown in South Africa.

It is a must win tie in order to revive their fading hopes, while a draw will guarantee the Egyptian champions an easy passage to the last four.

Zamalek are in good shape at the moment ahead of the clash as they have just lost twice in the last 21 matches, but Enyimba’s goalkeeper, Theophilus Afelokhai, is optimistic they can get all three points in Egypt against Zamalek in their CAF Champions League game in Cairo.

Afelokhai is one of the five Enyimba players who had to leave the camp of the NPFL All-Star on Friday to join up with their mates in Cairo ahead of the big game.

“I haven’t lost hope or else I wouldn’t have left Spain to Egypt when I’m billed to start against Malaga CF but I’m leaving the camp here to go to Cairo because I believe it is possible.

“Remember they beat us at home so we know we can also beat them at their home then beat Sundowns in the final game to qualify.

“I know this and my colleague know it too so we are all optimistic,” Afelokhai said.

Enyimba players, Afelokhai, Chinedu Udoji, Dare Ojo, Ezekiel Bassey and Joseph Osadiaye, are now in Egypt for the clash.
