FA to investigate Manchester United coach attack

The Football Association has confirmed that it will investigate incidents before and during West Ham United‘s match against Manchester United this evening.

Kickoff in the final match at the Boleyn Ground was delayed by 45 minutes due to Man Utd’s coach being pelted with missiles on its way to the stadium, causing them to arrive late.

Objects were also thrown from sections of the home support during the game, and the FA has “strongly condemned” the actions of those involved.

“The FA strongly condemns the unsavoury incidents this evening involving both the Manchester United team coach outside West Ham United’s Boleyn Ground and objects thrown from a section of the home support during the game,” read a statement.

“We will work closely with both clubs and the Metropolitan Police to fully investigate these matters.”

West Ham went on to win the game 3-2 courtesy of a late comeback that lifts them up to sixth in the table.
