FLYING EAGLES GIVEN INJURY BOOST AS OSIMHEN AND ANUMUDU RESUME TRAINING

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria were handed a double injury boost in training today with top striker Victor Osimhen and left full back Udochukwu Anumudu returning back to training.

Anumudu has been out since twisting his ankle last week but resumed training today by taking part in a loose up session which lasted for 30 minutes without suffering any set back.

He is in line to continue as a starter in their return leg tie against Burundi in Calabar after impressing in the first leg 1-0 win away in Bujumbura in the race to qualify for next year Africa U-17 Championship in Zambia.

Top striker Victor Osimhen has been out with a bout of malaria since Monday missing their 5-0 friendly win over NNL side Shekarau Babes but despite his almost four days absence from training he looked sharp and participated fully in all drills during the session.

The return of the players will no doubt boost the morale of the boys who are under the tutelage of Emmanuel Amuneke as they aim to qualify for the defence of the trophy Nigeria won two years ago in Senegal.
