Ian Poulter’s car collection - well, he has earned £24 million for hitting a ball

Poulter has delighted and enraged his fans on social media in equal measure after taking everyone on a trip down memory lane – through photographs of his car collection over the years.

The famously brash and outspoken golfer and sporting fashion icon began in the best way possible, by posting archive pictures of the first motors he owned.

The first photo Poulter treated fans to was one of him posing proudly with a green Vauxhall Astra while sporting a dubious choice of outfit.

“Hahaha what was I wearing… That’s horrendous. Long legs,” he wrote on his Instagram page.

Next up was a picture of a D-reg blue Ford Fiesta XR2, accompanied with the caption, “My first and second cars…”

Given he has now racked up career earnings of $36,760,702 (£24 million), it’s perhaps no surprise that the quality of Poulter’s ‘wheels’ have improved pretty significantly since the early years.

The Ryder Cup superstar, who grew up in Hitchin, has picked up a staggering $1512,307 (£994,000) so far this year alone, so it makes perfect sense for him to boast of a garage of ‘$750,000 worth of cars’ – and that’s before you take in his Ferrari collection.

In May, he sent the following tweet about his complex supercar situation, which fans appeared to have little sympathy for.

Meanwhile, Poulter recently flaunted his pair of Ferrari 275 GTB classic cars.

Then came this photo of six stunning Ferraris parked neatly outside his 10,000-square-foot, seven-bedroom mansion in Florida.

Who could forget this photo of Poulter with the limited-edition Ferrari LaFerrari?

Going back to the classics, Poulter then posted a photo of his Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder.

Oh, and then the Ferrari F40 outside of his three-bay garage.

Poulter was absolutely delighted and relieved when he discovered he could fit two golf bags in the back of his Ferrari F12.

And finally, Poulter famously turned up at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March sporting a $2.5 million (£1.5 million) limited edition Ferrari Enzo, parking it directly outside the clubhouse at the event hosted by the American golf legend.
