Thunder rally to beat Spurs for series lead

The Oklahoma City Thunder moved ahead in their NBA Western Conference semi-final against the San Antonio Spurs thanks to Tuesday’s 95-91 win.

Oklahoma City trailed by as much as six points with four minutes remaining in San Antonio, but the Thunder rallied to beat the Spurs for a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven play-off series.

The Thunder earned a 92-91 lead with 42 seconds remaining but they almost surrendered their advantage when Kevin Durant lost the ball.

However, Tony Parker’s jump shot hit the rim and bounced out of play.

With 9.3 seconds remaining and in possession of the ball, Russell Westbrook then went under the basket, earning the bucket and the foul for a three-point play.

Westbrook finished with 35 points and 11 rebounds in a double-double display, while Durant posted 23 points.

Thunder team-mate Steven Adams had 12 points and 11 rebounds on the road.

The Spurs were led by Kawhi Leonard (26), LaMarcus Aldridge (20) and Daniel Green (20), who all had 20 or more points.
